Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Her popularity as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice portal that offered critical opinions on the politics. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate for the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential women" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that shaped her. When she was a teen she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. At the age of 16, she returned to the UK for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. Being the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned a Masters in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and a television host. She also appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
