Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin was born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career with The Piano. At age 11, she became an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Her family moved to New Zealand when she was as a young child, and lived there for the rest of her life. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist who in the middle of the 19th century makes her way into New Zealand for an arranged marriage after responding to an audition open to all when she was just nine years aged and had little prior experience in acting. In her teens, Paquin was able to move to the United States. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. She also played the lead role for the role of the Queen in Fly Away Home, a film released the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and played the role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She portrayed teens as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
